Teens rescued

Sullivans Island, S.C.
Two teenagers were rescued this week after drifting for six days in the Atlantic Ocean. Troy Driscoll, 15, and Josh Long, 17, set out to go shark fishing off Sullivans Island, S.C., but they lost control of their 14-foot sailboat in the strong winds and choppy waves. “After 20 minutes we knew we were in for a long trip,” Driscoll said. They lost their fishing gear on day two, and survived on raw jellyfish and seawater. Authorities had warned the boys’ parents to prepare for the worst. Then a fishing boat plucked them from the water—sunburned and dehydrated but otherwise healthy—111 miles north of where they started. “We just prayed every day,” Long said. “God answered us.”
