Running of the streakers
The week's news at a glance.
Pamplona, Spain
Several hundred animal rights activists, mostly women, marched topless through the streets of Pamplona to protest this week’s annual running of the bulls. Each year, dozens of bulls stampede through narrow cobblestone alleys on their way to the ring, and thousands of daredevils from all over the world race ahead of them, trying not to get gored. Since 1910, 15 people have died in the event. Activists pointed out that all of the bulls end up dead—killed in the bullfighting ring.
