Beijing
Chinese police have captured the man they believe to be the country’s worst serial killer, responsible for stabbing to death at least 65 people over the past two years. Angry after being dumped by a girlfriend, Yang Xinhai, 38, is alleged to have drifted from village to village, slaughtering entire families of poor farmers. During the alleged killing spree, he was picked up several times for soliciting prostitutes, but was always released after paying a fine. The Public Security Bureau said Yang’s case promised to be the biggest murder trial in modern Chinese history.
