Megan Rapinoe’s 61st-minute penalty gave the US the breakthrough and eight minutes later Rose Lavelle made sure of the victory.

Rapinoe, who won the Golden Ball for the tournament’s best player and the Golden Boot for top goalscorer, was recently involved in a Twitter spat with US President Donald Trump.

Pogba future is up in the air

Paul Pogba’s Manchester United future is “up in the air”, says Metro, after the midfielder’s agent, Mino Raiola, confirmed at the weekend that the French star wants to leave Old Trafford.

There had been speculation that the 26-year-old could miss United’s pre-season tour of Australia, but the Daily Express reports that Pogba “takes flight” by joining his team-mates on the trip Down Under.

Despite his presence on the flight questions remain regarding Pogba’s future. He has been recently linked with big-money moves to Real Madrid and former club Juventus.
