'Mean Girls' author calls out Tina Fey, alleges she hasn't been paid fairly

How many of you have ever felt personally victimized by Paramount Pictures? Rosalind Wiseman, whose book Queen Bees and Wannabes was turned into the 2004 movie Mean Girls, alleged to the New York Post that she hasn't been paid fairly for her work. She told the outlet she received just over $400,000 for the film rights but has made no money off of Mean Girls since then thanks to her "terrible" contract. It apparently said she would receive more money depending on how well the movie performed, but Paramount claims there's nothing to share because it has made no net profits from the hit film, according to the Post. So her lawyers want to look at the studio's books to verify that claim, and she's threatening legal action. Wiseman also called out Tina Fey, the film's writer, telling the Post she can't just "talk about supporting women" but has to "actually do it." Will her attorneys be able to fetch her some cash?

Amanda Bynes placed on psychiatric hold after 'roaming the streets naked'

Former Nickelodeon star Amanda Bynes has been placed on a psychiatric hold after she was "found roaming the streets naked and alone," TMZ reports. The actress was seen walking without any clothes near downtown Los Angeles on Sunday, and after waving down a car, she told the driver she was "coming down from a psychotic episode," the outlet says. Bynes reportedly then called 911, and she was taken to a police station and placed on a psych hold. She is reportedly now hospitalized. This comes about a year after Bynes was freed from her conservatorship, which was set up in 2013. The former Amanda Show star, who has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder, recently canceled an appearance at '90s Con, where she was expected to reunite with her former All That co-stars. Kenan & Kel's Kel Mitchell told Entertainment Tonight he's "been praying for her."

Jordan Peele's next movie to open on Christmas Day 2024

Ready to have yourself a Gordy little Christmas? Jordan Peele's next film is in sight, as Universal has scheduled a new movie from the horror mastermind for Dec. 25, 2024. This will be the fourth film Peele has directed after Get Out, Us, and last year's Nope. Literally nothing is known about the plot or even the title, but Peele previously told Deadline that he'll stay in the genre of horror mixed with comedy, and he teased last August that he had a "few ideas percolating." This will also be Peele's first film to be released over the holiday season, and it will hit theaters just five days after the next Avatar. Perhaps Universal is going with that end-of-the-year date due to high hopes for the film's Oscar potential — or maybe it's because the movie is actually holiday-themed, and Peele is dreaming up a Red Christmas.

Anna Marie Tendler insists TikTok accusing Taylor Swift of theft was a 'joke'

It was just a prank, bro! After drawing backlash, Anna Marie Tendler, John Mulaney's ex-wife, insists she was just kidding when she accused Taylor Swift of copying her artwork. In a TikTok, Tendler claimed a stage setup in Swift's Eras Tour "looks strikingly like" her art "in tone and in aesthetics," comparing a video of the singer setting up a dining table to a photograph of Tendler sitting at a dining table. "It doesn't totally feel like parallel thinking to me," Tendler said, wondering what she should "do about this." But pretty much no one was on her side as the clip went viral and baffled fans asked if Tendler was seriously "accusing Taylor Swift of stealing her idea of setting a table," as one tweet said. Tendler has now made her TikTok account private, and she claimed in a comment that "this was meant to be a joke." Maybe she should leave the comedy to her ex.

Sarah Snook didn’t know 'Succession' was ending until January table read

It turns out Succession star Sarah Snook found out she was losing her HBO gig not too long before we did. The Shiv Roy actress told the Los Angeles Times she was "very upset" when she learned Succession is ending, something she didn't know about until the final table read in January. The news was officially announced in February. "It would have been nice to know at the beginning of the season, but I also understand not being told until the end because there was still a potential that maybe this wasn't going to be the end," she said. Snook noted there were indications during production that the show may be wrapping up, but it wasn't official until that table read. "I felt a huge sense of loss, disappointment and sadness," she said. Meanwhile, Logan Roy actor Brian Cox told Variety he "felt nothing" filming his last scene on the show. "Nothing!" Talk about a tale of two Roys.
