1. CORRUPTION: QATAR ‘BOUGHT WORLD CUP’

The disgraced Qatari football official Mohamed Bin Hammam made payments totaling $5m (£3m) to secure the 2022 World Cup for Qatar, says The Sunday Times. The newspaper has obtained millions of “bombshell” documents which it says proves the right to host the tournament was sealed by a covert campaign by Bin Hammam, the country’s top football official.
