David Cameron has today announced plans to take benefits away from migrants for the first four years that they live in the UK. He demanded changes to EU migration rules and warned that unless the UK's demands were heeded he would "rule nothing out" - seen by many as a hint that he would consider taking the UK out of the EU

Seven mental health patients in England have killed themselves since 2012 while waiting for a hospital bed, a BBC investigation has found. Another patient denied a bed later killed his mother. More than 2,100 mental health beds have been cut in England since 2011, with wards over-occupied.
5. ANDREW MITCHELL ‘MAY PAY MILLIONS’
Former Tory cabinet minister Andrew Mitchell may face a legal bill for millions of pounds after the High Court found he did call police officers “plebs” during a row over his bicycle. Mitchell sued the Sun newspaper and was then sued by one of the police officers he had accused of lying.

6. POPE CONDEMNS RELIGIOUS 'TERRORISM'
The Pope, at the start of a three-day trip to Turkey, has condemned religious "fundamentalism and terrorism" and called for interfaith talks to promote "understanding and appreciation". He also called for peace in the Middle East and more help for refugees in the region. Turkey is a majority Muslim country which borders war-torn Syria, home to Islamic State.
7. MANY DEAD IN NIGERIA MOSQUE BLASTS
Dozens of people are feared dead after a series of explosions at one of the biggest mosques in the north Nigerian city of Kano during Friday prayers. There were reports of gunmen shooting on the streets in the aftermath of the blasts. Islamist terror organisation Boko Haram operates in the region and has targeted the city before.
8. ‘BATS OUT’ TRIBUTE FOR PHILLIP HUGHES
Cricket fans across the world have been mourning the death of 25-year-old Australia batsman Phillip Hughes by tweeting pictures of their own cricket bat with a cap hung on the handle. The tag #putoutyourbats has been trending as a result. Hughes died after being hit on the back of the head by a bouncer.

9. JEREMY PAXMAN WILL NOT STAND FOR MAYOR
Former Newsnight presenter Jeremy Paxman has laughed off claims he was set to stand as the Conservative candidate for London mayor. He responded to the reports by admitting he had been invited to discuss the idea with David Cameron, but said he would not enter the race to replace Boris Johnson in 2016 "for all the eclairs in Paris".
10. HOT TICKET: PADDINGTON MOVIE
The film adaptation of Michael Bond's children's classic, Paddington, opens in UK cinemas today. After an earthquake destroys his home in Peru, a young bear (voiced by Ben Whishaw) heads to London in search of a new home. "A total delight," says the Daily Telegraph.
