1. Trump's coast-to-coast tour as poll beckons
Donald Trump will spend today on a whistlestop, coast-to-coast tour of four states as he makes a final push for the White House. Hillary Clinton will address just one rally, in Florida, before joining pop star Katy Perry on stage in Philadelphia. The FBI has warned al-Qaeda could be planning terror attacks in several states around the US presidential election.
2. Jeremy Corbyn calls for Brexit plans 'transparency'
Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn is to call on the government to bring its plans for negotiating Brexit to Parliament "without delay". Meanwhile, Tory MPs are urging Theresa May to calm the backlash against the High Court ruling on the process of leaving the EU. The Daily Telegraph says ministers are preparing for an early general election after a Conservative MP resigned in protest at May's handling of Brexit.
3. Scotland Yard 'to bury' abuse report on US election day
Scotland Yard has been accused of a cover-up after it emerged that it will bury a damning child sex abuse report on the day of the US election. Sir Bernard Hogan-Howe will publish the report into the force's inquiry into historic child sex abuse on Tuesday. "I cannot believe that anybody would be so naive to think they would get away with this," said a Scotland Yard source.

4. Eight jailed in Rotherham for child sex offences
Eight men who sexually abused three teenage girls in Rotherham have been sent to prison. They were jailed at Sheffield Crown Court having been convicted of a total of 16 charges, including rape, indecent assault and false imprisonment. The judge said their victims had been "targeted, sexualised and subjected to degrading and violent acts". Rotherham MP Sarah Champion described the offences as "despicable".
5. Sterling week for pound as hard Brexit fears ease
The pound has notched up its best weekly gain against the US dollar since March as investor fears of a hard Brexit eased in response to the court ruling that Theresa May must seek parliamentary approval on the terms of Brexit. Investors hope that a vote on the issue will force the Prime Minister to take a softer negotiating stance in exit talks, scheduled to start next year.
6. Mosul images show Islamic State bedding in for fight
Satellite images of Mosul show that Islamic State fighters have built a series of barricades in preparation for the assault by Iraqi-led forces on the militant stronghold. The photographs show the line of defensive positions constructed along the city's southern edge. The operation to retake Mosul could last several months, with the prospect of house-to-house fighting through booby-trapped buildings.
7. Michael Buble 'devastated' after son diagnosed with cancer
Michael Buble and his wife Luisana Lopilato have said they are "devastated" after their three-year-old son Noah was diagnosed with cancer. Writing on Facebook, the Canadian singer said he and Lopilato, a model and actress, were giving up work commitments to concentrate on "helping Noah get well". Bible and Lopilato have another son, nine-month old Elias.
8. MoD 'seriously misled' Vince Cable on Saudi exports
The Ministry of Defence has been accused of "seriously misleading" a cabinet minister in a bid to get export licences for British-made missiles for use by Saudi Arabia in its controversial bombing campaign in Yemen. Vince Cable has told The Guardian that during his tenure as business secretary he was given assurances, later denied by the MoD, about measures to minimise civilian casualties.
9. Pentagon announces death of senior al-Qaeda figure
Washington has confirmed the death of a senior al-Qaeda leader targeted by a US drone in Afghanistan last month. Saudi-born Farouq al-Qahtani was killed two weeks ago in what the Pentagon described as a precision strike. Considered one of al-Qaeda's senior plotters against the US, he was placed on a US list of most wanted terrorists in February.
10. 'Boomerang children' numbers soar in Britain
One in four Brits in their twenties and early thirties now live with their parents. Thanks to sky-high house prices and rents, the number of 'boomerang children' has soared to 3.3m - 900,000 more than in 2003. The pattern has seen many families return to the living patterns seen in the 1940s and 50s, when children would leave home only when married.
