Lamborghini has revealed details of its new very exclusive hypercar - the Essenza SCV12.
Boasting Lambo’s most powerful V12 engine to date, with more than 820bhp, just 40 of the limited edition models will be available to buy.
Despite a reported price tag of around €3m (£2.7m), according to ThisisMoney.co.uk, customers should not expect to test that V12 out on the roads or even enjoy showing it off at home.

That’s because the Essenza SCV12 is built for the track only and will be stored by Lambo in Italy.
On the plus side, anyone with deep enough pockets can join an exclusive club and get access to special programs to drive their hypercar on the most prestigious circuits in the world. The track calendar will start in 2021 with “arrive and drive” events held at numerous FIA Grade 1 homologated circuits.
The program also includes a storage service at a new hangar built in Sant’Agata Bolognese for the Essenza SCV12 club. Each car will have a personalised garage and dedicated services, including webcams to allow customers to monitor their cars 24 hours a day using an app.
Designed for the “ultimate driving experience”, Automobili Lamborghini chief technical officer Maurizio Reggiani said: “Essenza SCV12 is the ultimate expression of the V12 naturally aspirated engine, the symbol of our brand since 1963. It is a project in which we combined the pursuit of engineering perfection with refined aerodynamics, futuristic design, and innovative solutions such as the carbon monocoque without internal roll-cage.
“The result is an engaging and uncompromising car, born to race and to showcase on the track the characteristics that have made Lamborghini famous worldwide, guaranteeing unique and special emotions for both the driver and onlookers.”
Describing it as “bonkers” Top Gear’s Vijay Pattni said: “Lamborghini does a fine line in naturally aspirated V12 engines. Has done, for decades. Lamborghini also does a fine line in naturally bonkers track machines, and this is its latest, and perhaps its most bonkers.”
