Cech and Falcao put themselves on the market
Neither player is a regular first-team pick, and both have dropped heavy hints that they want to move
Petr Cech is looking for a new home, while the future of Radamel Falcao is once again exciting the Fourth Estate.
Someone else likely to be heading to pastures new at the end of this season is Manchester United's on-loan striker Radamel Falcao. The Daily Mail says that the Colombia forward Falcao, who arrived at Old Trafford in August from Monaco, has dropped his biggest hint yet that his future doesn't lie in Manchester because of his lack of game time this season. "I think any footballer needs to play," Falcao told Colombia's Radio Caracol. Asked to elaborate, Falcao replied: "When the championship ends surely I'll sit down, do an analysis and decide what's best for me…[but] obviously I need to find a place where I have continuity and can play."
Another United star in the news is defender Chris Smalling, with the Daily Telegraph claiming Arsene Wenger "is considering a renewed £12million bid" for the centre-half at the end of the season. The Gunners expressed an interest in Smalling when he was at Fulham in 2010 and apparently Wenger – determined to find a replacement for the ageing and increasingly slow Per Mertesacker – will make an approach in the coming months.

Uncertainty surrounds the future of former Liverpool midfielder Alberto Aquilani with [4] Talksport claiming that the Italian "could be on the move in the summer" if he fails to agree a new deal with Fiorentina. Several Premier League clubs have been linked with the playmaker despite the fact he never made much of an impression during his time at Anfield six years ago. Season-long loan spells at Juventus and AC Milan followed before Aquilani left Liverpool for good in 2012, but his time at Fiorentina appears close to an end with his agent, Franco Zavaglia, admitting: "There is no news yet on the renewal of the midfielder. I do not know how it will end."
