It was a tale of two managers at the King Power stadium on Tuesday, with Sunderland boss David Moyes getting another slap in the face when Craig Shakespeare's Leicester recorded a fifth straight win in the Premier League.

With only eight games left to make up an eight point deficit on Swansea in 17th place, the Black Cats face almost certain relegation.

"Oblivion beckons for Sunderland, and for their godforsaken manager David Moyes," says Jonathan Liew of the Daily Telegraph.

"The curtain is coming down on their giddy decade in the Premier League, and the misery of it is that it almost feels like a humane ending."

Leicester's fans delighted in the manager's misery. Moyes has been forced to issue an apology after he was caught on camera threatening to "slap" a female BBC reporter, a tale that delighted Foxes supporters, who sang: "You're getting slapped in the morning."

"When a proud club becomes a punchline, something has gone very badly wrong", says Liew.

While Sunderland have stuck by their beleaguered manager this season, the same cannot be said of Leicester. Axing Claudio Ranieri midway through the season was hugely controversial, but it is becoming harder to argue that the decision was wrong. Since he left, the Foxes are unbeaten and Shakespeare has been setting records.

Leicester's new boss has won six out of six since taking over from the popular Italian, including five in a row in the Premier League.

"After five defeats in a row to Chelsea, Southampton, Burnley, Manchester United and Swansea sealed Ranieri's fate, Shakespeare has won each of his first five games in charge against Liverpool, Hull, West Ham, Stoke and Sunderland," reports Metro.

"The last time a team managed anything like this was in 2004-05, when Tottenham lost six in a row before responding with a five-game winning streak."

On top of that, Shakespeare has "joined a very exclusive club of managers who've won their first five games in charge in the Premier League", says Dream Team FC website.

"Manchester City's Pep Guardiola enjoyed a similar spell at the start of the season, along with Carlo Ancelotti at Chelsea back in 2009."
