Arsenal transfer news: Alexandre Lacazette happy to fight for place
French striker dismisses rumours he wanted to leave the Emirates
Alexandre Lacazette has rubbished rumours that he is angling for a move out of the Emirates.
Reports emerged last week suggesting the Gallic goalscorer wanted out of Arsenal before the European transfer window closed on Friday evening.
The former Lyon striker not only stayed but he was the Gunners’ stand-out performer in their 3-2 win at Cardiff City on Sunday, the Frenchman blasting home the winner late on.

‘Happy at Arsenal’
Now Lacazette has hit out at the gossip groupies with the Daily Mirror one of several papers to carry his comments in response to the wantaway stories.
“I don’t know who said this stuff, but I am at one of the best clubs in London and I am happy at Arsenal,” said Lacazette, who arrived at the Emirates a little over 12 months ago.
“It’s always going to be hard to be in the first XI at a club like this, but I always keep fighting and working. I won’t play every week just because of one game.”
Working well
Lacazette started the season on the bench but judging by his form on Sunday he’ll soon be given more game time from Unai Emery.
“Every day I have to work and show the coach I work well and I deserve my place,” said the 27-year-old sharpshooter, adding that he is relishing playing alongside Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the Arsenal frontline.
“It’s nice to play together because we compliment each other’s strengths.”
