This gorgeous timelapse video shows the Earth from space

While on the International Space Station earlier this year for the six-month Blue Dot mission, European Space Agency astronaut Alexander Gerst would set cameras to automatically take photos at regular intervals. The result is 12,500 images of sunrises, clouds, auroras, city lights, and the Milky Way that have been combined into a stunning timelapse video. --Catherine Garcia
