Two weeks after the midterm elections, Alaska Sen. Mark Begich (D) has conceded to Republican challenger Dan Sullivan. The latest vote tally put Sullivan up by about 7,700 votes, 48 percent to 45 percent.

The concession means Republicans will likely begin the next session of Congress with a 54-seat majority. Louisiana's Senate race is yet to be decided in a runoff next month, but Sen. Mary Landrieu (D) is expected to lose by a wide margin.
