Here's further proof that public proposals aren't always a good idea.
Yahoo News, via The Nanfang, is reporting that a programmer at a game company in China bought 99 iPhones to propose to his girlfriend, who rejected the offer. The man apparently wanted to get engaged ahead of China's "Singles' Day," Nov. 11.
Of course, as Tencent News suggests, the story hasn't been confirmed, and it may be a marketing ploy intended to go viral. After all, two years' salary is quite a lot to spend on an abundance of unnecessary phones.
