Microsoft announced Thursday that it will now offer Microsoft Office for free on mobile devices.
Word, Excel, and PowerPoint will be available for iPhone, iPad, and Android, with no costs to download the apps. Before the announcement, full use of the app required a subscription to Office 365. Features like unlimited OneDrive storage and Dropbox integration, meanwhile, are still exclusive to Office 365 customers.
The free versions of Office for iPhone and iPad are available in the iTunes Store. The Office for Android version is available as a tablet preview and is scheduled for a full release in 2015.
