The breakout success of American Horror Story has led FX to greenlight another genre-based anthology series produced by creator Ryan Murphy. The network has officially ordered American Crime Story, which will spend each of its seasons dramatizing a different, real-life crime "that made headlines and captivated the public's imagination."
First up? The O.J. Simpson trial. The first season, titled American Crime Story: The People vs. O.J. Simpson, will spend 10 episodes telling the story of the legendary 1995 court case from the perspectives of both the defense and the prosecution.
The series will be adapted from Jeffrey Toobin's The Run of His Life: The People vs. O.J. Simpson. No cast members have been announced, but production on American Crime Story: The People vs. O.J. Simpson is expected to begin in Los Angeles sometime early next year.
