House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) said Sunday the U.S. would "probably" need to deploy ground troops to Syria and Iraq to stop ISIS.
"If we engage in a conflict that we know this is a threat to America, we should make it so one-sided that it gets over very quickly," he said on CBS's Face the Nation. "So we should have everything on the table to make sure we win this."
McCarthy said the U.S. could "maybe have handled this differently" had Obama acted sooner and with more force to head off ISIS before it grew. Yet now, he added, "I think special forces and others are probably going to have to be on the ground." --Jon Terbush
