Leave it to Patrick Stewart to finally get the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge right

Everybody, it seems, is taking the Ice Bucket Challenge to raise awareness (and cash) for the ALS Association. As of Sunday, the viral video sensation where people famous and not-famous dump buckets of ice water on their heads has raised $70.2 million to research a cure for Lou Gehrig's disease, according to the ALS Association. As with all massively popular phenomena, there's a growing backlash against the Ice Bucket Challenge, both highbrow and lowbrow (i.e., enough already, people!).

Patrick Stewart accepted the Ice Bucket Challenge last Friday, and like most things Patrick Stewart-related, he does it better. How classy and to-the-point is his Ice Bucket Challenge? Sarah Palin name-checked him when she dumped a bucket of water on her own head. Not to be uncharitable, but couldn't we let Stewart's silent video be the final word on this? --Peter Weber
