Thirty-eight switches and 291 LEDs. A working intercom that connects to a mission control desk. A robot arm that can be operated via video feed. Hydrogen and oxygen monitoring. Three thrusters. One payload bay. This toy spaceship is fully loaded.
North Carolina-native and Best Dad Ever Jeff Highsmith built this tricked-out simulator for his 4-year-old son out of materials you could probably buy at Home Depot. It took him four months — and he's still working on additions. Next up? "Homemade satellites."
