Pharrell is a 'low-wage villain' for singing at Walmart, says labor union

The AFL-CIO is not happy with Pharrell. The nation's largest federation of labor unions on Monday named the singer/producer/enormous-hat-wearer its "Low-Wage Villain of the Week" for performing his hit song, "Happy," for Walmart shareholders.
Pharrell, the group said, displayed a total "lack of awareness of what the lives of Walmart workers are like when he said, 'Put your hands together for Walmart, guys, for making the world a happier place.'"
The AFL-CIO added that Pharrell is probably "a really nice guy" who just doesn't know about Walmart's labor practices, and thus he unwittingly helped "celebrate a company that makes so many working families unhappy."
