Germany will win the World Cup, video game predicts

Forget the prognosticating octopus and those supposedly clairvoyant pandas. There's a better way to forecast the World Cup's outcome: video games.
And if an EA Sports simulation is to be believed, Germany will emerge victorious after topping host nation Brazil, in extra time, in the final match. Defending champ Spain placed third in the mock tournament, while the United States predictably failed to advance past the opening round.
EA Sports correctly called the 2010 World Cup for Spain. We'll soon see if the simulation's soothsaying holds up again this year.
