Cliven Bundy is saying goodbye to the Republican Party. On Friday, Nevada's most famous rancher registered with the Independent American Party during an event in Las Vegas, MSNBC reports.

Bundy made headlines in April when his fight with the Bureau of Land Management over grazing his cattle on public land turned potentially explosive. Armed supporters began arriving on his ranch, and many conservatives backed him in the media. Apparently, that didn't mean much to Bundy. "I haven't got much good out of the Democrats and Republicans so I decided to try a new one," he said, according to the Elko Daily Free Press.
