Spanish bullfighting festival stopped after bulls start winning

A prestigious bullfighting festival in Madrid had to be stopped early on Tuesday when the bulls started beating the matadors at their own game.

Three different matadors — David Mora, Saúl Jiménez Fortes, and Antonio Nazaré — were variously gored, trampled, and tossed into the air.

The Spanish newspaper El País reports: "After that, there was nothing left to do but suspend the bullfight due to the injuries to all three toreros – the first time that had happened at Ventas [arena] in 35 years."

The paper also reports that all three matadors are recovering from their injuries. The bull that injured Mora, however, was killed during the fight by Nazaré, before a different bull then caught both Jiménez Fortes and Nazaré himself.
