February 26 was either Walter Williams' best or worst day.
The Mississippi man was pronounced dead at about 9 p.m. on Wednesday. Coroners zipped him into a body bag and took him away in a hearse. Later, mere moments before coroners were set to embalm him, Williams stirred from within the bag. When workers unzipped it, they found the man to be very much alive and (literally) kicking.
To say the coroner on duty was shocked would be an understatement. "It's a miracle," he told the County Sheriff. Officials, however, suspect a faulty pacemaker may be to blame for the mix-up. Either way, Williams' family is thrilled that he's sticking around.
