Israeli leaders attend Jerusalem funeral for 4 Jewish men killed in Paris
Thousands gathered in Jerusalem Tuesday to mourn the death of four men who were killed during a hostage situation at a kosher supermarket in Paris last week. The victims' families asked that the bodies be moved from France to Israel for burial.
Each of the victims' family members spoke at the joint funeral ceremony, which was attended by Israeli President Reuven Rivlin as well as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Those lost include Yohan Cohen, Yoav Hattab, Francois-Michel Saada, and Philippe Brahahm.
After the tragedy, Netanyahu suggested French Jews move to Israel amid anti-Semitism in France. The statement stirred controversy, and French Prime Minister Manuel Valls told The Atlantic that if one-fifth of France's Jewish population — roughly 100,000 people — leave the country, "France will no longer be France." --Meghan DeMaria
