A policewoman guarding French President Francois Hollande's residence was injured when a driver deliberately hit her with his car late Wednesday night.
A source told France 24 that the officer tried to stop a car headed the wrong direction on a one-way street. The driver "looked into the policewoman's eyes" before plowing into her. Four people were inside of the car, and all fled on foot. Two 19-year-old males, including the driver, were arrested, and police are still searching for the other passengers, thought to be a man and a woman.
The officer suffered minor injuries to her hand and shoulder, and Hollande spoke with her before she was taken to a hospital for treatment. Police say there is no connection between the incident and the Paris terrorist attacks last week.
