President Obama is hosting a Selma screening at the White House

Selma fans may be outraged by the lack of Oscar nominations for both director Ava DuVernay and star David Oyelowo, but the film's creative team scored a pretty great consolation prize: an invitation to a private Selma screening hosted by President Obama at the White House.

The Washington Post reports that President Obama has invited DuVernay and the cast of Selma to attend an "intimate" screening of the Oscar contender on Friday. Common, who cowrote the Oscar-nominated song "Glory" with John Legend, is one of several celebrities expected to attend.
