Grandmother fined for possessing cocaine outside bingo hall

Helen Heaphy's bingo buddies can rest easy — she's cleared to return to the game.
The 50-year-old grandmother pleaded guilty on Wednesday to two counts of possessing cocaine for sale or supply. Heaphy was caught with the cocaine outside a bingo hall in Cork, Ireland, in July.
Heaphy apparently told Cork District Court Judge Leo Malone that she "was holding the cocaine for an unspecified friend," The Associated Press reports.

Malone accepted her lawyer's plea for clemency, which cited "family obligations." He gave Heaphy a $870 fine but didn't give her any jail time. Most importantly, Heaphy is allowed to return to the Cork bingo hall.
