When it comes to measles, babies in impoverished countries such as Libya and Zimbabwe are being vaccinated more effectively.
According to the World Health Organization, 113 countries have higher measles immunization rates for one-year-olds than the U.S. Measles immunization coverage for American one-year-olds is at 91 percent.
The WHO recommends that every child receive a measles vaccine before their first birthday. The U.S. saw a one percent decline in immunization rates from 2012 to 2013, the WHO notes, leaving the country more vulnerable to measles outbreaks.
