Rep. David Moore (R) of Montana wants to strengthen the state's indecent exposure laws to include tight-fitting clothing, including Speedos and yoga pants.
Moore is introducing a bill to the Montana legislature after naked bicyclists rode through Missoula in August. His proposed bill, HB 365, would ban "any device, costume, or covering that gives the appearance of or simulates the genitals, pubic hair, anus region, or public hair region."
After the hearing, Moore apparently said that "yoga pants should be illegal in public anyway," according to the Billings Gazette. Under Montana's current laws, a person convicted of indecent exposure three times could be sentenced to life in jail and a $10,000 fine. Moore's bill would reduce the sentencing to a maximum of five years in jail and a $5,000 fine.
