Whether or not you love the '80s, this week's video from our sister site, Mental Floss, probably has a few '80s facts you didn't know.

You may wish that you had "Jessie's Girl," but did you know Rick Springfield had a role on General Hospital in 1981? Some of the other lesser-known '80s tidbits include the fact that John Hughes wrote Ferris Bueller's Day Off in just six days, and Prince wrote The Bangles' "Manic Monday."

If you were alive in the '80s, you may be less surprised by the fact that in 1987, waterbeds accounted for 25 percent of all mattress sales. And Reese's Pieces sales increased by a whopping 65 percent after E.T. was released.
