Eric Holder condemns Ferguson shooting as 'inexcusable and repugnant'
Attorney General Eric Holder on Thursday condemned "in the strongest terms" the overnight shooting of two police officers in Ferguson, Missouri.
"This heinous assault on two brave law enforcement officers was inexcusable and repugnant," Holder said in a statement.
Gunfire struck one officer in the cheek and another in the shoulder, though neither suffered life-threatening injuries. The shots came amid a protest following the resignation of the town's police chief over a scathing Justice Department report that accused Ferguson's police of rampant racial bias.
