That stench coming out of New Jersey isn't just from that patch of wasteland where it appears "Satan's skunk" got a case of the runs, Jon Stewart said on Thursday night's Daily Show. It's also coming from two of the state's top political officials, Gov. Chris Christie (R) and Sen. Robert Menendez (D).
Christie, who recently criticized President Obama's negotiating skills during a swing through Iowa, just settled his state's $8.9 billion lawsuit against Exxon (which created that wasteland) for a mere $225 million. Three pennies on the dollar? Stewart said. "Well, Christie said he was a great negotiator — he didn't say which side he was working for." Menendez is facing federal criminal charges for allegedly helping a top donor get a sweetheart deal in the Dominican Republic. Watch Stewart tie it all together with corruption in Washington, and call New Jersey's governor and senior U.S. senator "prostitutes," below. —Peter Weber
