Residents demand Lucille Ball statue gets a makeover

If you were in the western New York town of Celoron recently, it's possible you saw the bronze, life-size statue honoring former town resident Lucille Ball — but you might not have known it.
The Associated Press reports that critics of the statue depicting the 1950s TV star describe it as "'a nightmare' that resembles a drunken zombie." They want the original sculptor to fix the statue's face free of charge, though they have launched a fundraising campaign in case he sticks to his $10,000 fee for refacing it.
Villagers have also created a ''We Love Lucy! Get Rid of the Statue!'' Facebook page calling for a makeover of the statue.
