As it left Bermuda bound for Boston, a Norwegian Cruise Line ship ran aground on a reef Tuesday.

In a statement, Norwegian Cruise Line said that all 2,675 passengers and more than 1,000 crew members on the Norwegian Dawn were safe. At about 5 p.m., the ship was leaving King's Wharf when it temporarily lost power. "The ship's propulsion was affected and, at which time, the vessel made contact with the channel bed...The ship's team is currently assessing the situation." The company said that full power has since been restored and onboard services are running as scheduled.

On Twitter, passengers are sharing what it felt like when the ship ran aground, with Reuters reporting user Rachel Hansen as saying, "Ship shuddered, then stopped really fast. The captain said we won't be moving for a while."
