Folk singer Ronnie Gilbert dies at 88

Ronnie Gilbert, a singer in the influential 1950s folk quartet the Weavers, died of natural causes Saturday, The Associated Press reports. Gilbert, 88, along with Pete Seeger, Lee Hays, and Fred Hellerman, are credited with paving the way for acts like Bob Dylan and Peter, Paul and Mary.
Gilbert also had a solo career as a singer and stage actor.
