Billionaire business mogul and Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump took to CNN's State of the Union to stress the legitimacy of his campaign Sunday. In a move that would surprise no one, he also flaunted his cash to host Jake Tapper:
I gave up hundreds of millions in deals, you know, things that I do. In all fairness, I don’t want it to sound trivial — NBC renewed The Apprentice because we had a great season last season, and they would love me not to be doing this, they will tell you right now...The peanuts, the cheapest part, is what it costs to do it. [CNN]
Who knew running for president itself is so cheap?
In the interview, Trump repeatedly emphasized how seriously competitor and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush takes him. In one instance Trump referred to himself in the third person, clearly proving he isn't a total joke. Julie Kliegman
