A strong majority of Republicans really like Donald Trump, poll finds

A new Washington Post-ABC News poll reveals that The Donald is winning over someone, somewhere in America. In fact, lots of someones.
Since Trump announced his run for president last month, his favorability numbers have improved — to the extent that they are nearly as good as frontrunner Jeb Bush's. Trump lags behind Bush by only six points, garnering a favorable view from 57 percent of Republicans, compared to 40 percent with an unfavorable view. This is a complete reversal from just a month ago, when 65 percent of Republicans viewed Trump unfavorably.
However, Trump's rise in popularity is largely limited to the Republican Party. While almost six in 10 Republicans give Trump the thumbs up, amongst the "public at large," The Washington Post reports, "'strongly unfavorable' views outnumber strongly positive ratings by a three-to-one ratio." Still, since his presidential launch, he has even garnered more support from Democrats, 19 percent of whom now view him favorably. The only group amongst which Trump saw big dips in favorability were, unsurprisingly, Hispanics.
