After two-and-a-half hours of sitting in a downpour on Sunday, fans at Angel Stadium for the Angels vs. Boston Red Sox game were told that for the first time in 20 years, the game was rained out.

The news was met with boos by the crowd, the Los Angeles Daily News reports. It was the first home rainout for the Angels since June 16, 1995, the first to take place in July, and only the 16th for the Angels in their 55-year history. The grounds crew did their best to clean up the flooded field, using push brooms and large squeegees, but the rain kept falling and the game was finally called at 7:30 p.m.
