Disappointed in Pixels? This 2-minute, Adam Sandler-less short that inspired the movie is way better.

Pixels — the latest Hollywood comedy starring Adam Sandler and his perennial screen partner, Kevin James — is getting less than stellar reviews. But the core concept, which revolves around beloved video game characters like Pac-Man and Donkey Kong launching an Independence Day-style attack, is a lot of fun for anyone who frequented arcades in the '80s.

Fortunately, there's a way for you to see Pixels without Adam Sandler. The new movie is based on Patrick Jean's charming, accomplished two-minute short, which arrived in 2010. Save your time and money and check out the original Pixels right here instead. Scott Meslow
