North Korea says America just declared war
Perhaps even more than they hate Seth Rogen and James Franco, North Korea does not find it amusing when Seoul and Washington buddy up for military exercises. This time, though, the DPRK has accused the U.S. and South Korea's upcoming drill as being "a declaration of war."
Threatening to rain down "merciless blows," Pyongyang has warned that unless South Korea and the U.S. call off their Ulchi Freedom Guardian exercise next Monday, the DPRK will put to use their "ultra-precision striking means," the Yonhap News Agency reports.
While North Korea is often quick to threaten and less quick to take actual action, tensions have escalated in the recent past with Seoul vowing retaliation against North Korea for planting landmines in the demilitarized zone, which injured soldiers on August 4. South Korea likewise began a propaganda campaign against the North on Monday, waging "psychological warfare" through loudspeakers for the first time in over a decade.
