Activists launch 'Campaign Zero,' a plan to stop police violence
In the wake of police shootings across the country, a group of racial justice activists have launched a new comprehensive policy agenda to stop police violence. It includes a number of reforms to policing, the court system, and community oversight, complete with policy ideas for the federal, state, and local levels.
Their "Planning Team" includes DeRay McKesson (seen above), Samuel Sinyangwe, Brittany Packnett, and Johnetta Elzie. They have graded both Democratic and Republican presidential candidates on their campaign promises to reform police. So far Bernie Sanders is the clear winner overall, while Rand Paul is the only Republican who has any reform proposals at all.
