Baltimore officials have reportedly reached a $6.4 million wrongful death settlement with the family of Freddie Gray, The Washington Post reports. The deal still needs approval by Baltimore's Board of Estimates.

Gray, an unarmed black man, died in April due to a catastrophic injury sustained when cops drove him unbelted and handcuffed after his arrest. The 25-year-old's death, ruled a homicide, prompted widespread protests about police brutality against black people, along with similar incidents in Ferguson, Missouri, and Staten Island, N.Y.
