Bernie Sanders' campaign just launched its first TV ad, a 1-minute spot that comes as part of the Democratic presidential hopeful's $2 million voter outreach effort in Iowa and New Hampshire, Politico reports.
The ad highlights the independent Vermont senator's personal history, showing he grew up in Brooklyn and attended public schools before getting his start in the '80s as mayor of Burlington. It also touches briefly on his progressive stances on issues like wealth inequality, climate change, and civil rights.
"People are sick and tired of establishment politics, and they want real change," the ad shows Sanders saying at a rally.
