Donald Trump will reportedly start working directly with TV networks to negotiate Republican primary debate formats and content, anonymous Republican sources told The Washington Post.
The report comes after operatives from at least 11 different Republican presidential campaigns met Sunday to draft a letter of demands to collectively negotiate rules for future primary debates. Two of Trump's senior aides reportedly attended the meeting, but did not want to sign the letter.
The Republican National Committee suspended its NBC partnership and nixed a Feb. 26 debate on the network after Trump, fellow party outsider Ben Carson, and other GOP presidential contenders slammed CNBC's Oct. 28 debate moderators as biased and inaccurate.
