Jeb Bush just gave an incredibly emotional, honest interview about his daughter's drug addiction
Jeb Bush delved into a very personal topic in an interview with The Huffington Post Thursday: his daughter's history of drug addiction. After recounting a campaign trail meeting with a woman whose child died from a drug overdose, Bush admitted that he could relate. "It's very debilitating when you have a loved one who's struggling and you can't control it," Bush said. "I don't know what it's like to lose a daughter. But I almost did."
Bush's daughter Noelle was arrested at age 24 in 2002 for "trying to fill a false prescription and was sentenced 10 days in jail for contempt of court after she was found with crack cocaine in a drug rehabilitation center," CNN reports.
"I never expected to be seeing my beautiful daughter in jail," Bush said. "She went through hell. And so did her mom and so did her dad. And it was in a private setting, but then it became very public when I was governor. And it wasn't easy."

Bush's comments follow New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie's emotional speech about drug addiction and rehabilitation at a New Hampshire town hall meeting last week. A poll taken last month in New Hampshire revealed that the drug epidemic is considered the most important issue the first-in-the-nation primary state is facing, The Huffington Post reports.
