After arguing in favor of lowering the cost of prescription drugs and injecting more competition into the health care market, Hillary Clinton said at Saturday night's Democratic presidential debate, "I want to build on and improve the Affordable Care Act."

Sen. Bernie Sanders, while acknowledging the progress the country has made in health care, took it one step further. "At the end of the day the ACA is, no doubt, a step forward,” he said, garnering the first round of applause of the night. He continued: "I want to end the embarrassment of being the only developed country on Earth not to provide affordable health care as a right, not a privilege."
