Sen. Tim Scott endorses Marco Rubio
After a strong third-place showing from Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) in Monday's Iowa caucus, the presidential hopeful announced a key endorsement from a colleague Tuesday. Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.) vouched for Rubio just a few weeks before his constituents head to the polls.
"I'm putting my confidence and my trust in Marco Rubio because I believe that he takes us to that better future," Scott said in a video posted Tuesday. "Marco Rubio understands that here in America, it's not about where you start. It's about where you're going."
Scott, whose likely endorsement of Rubio was first reported Monday, is the only black Republican currently serving in the Senate. South Carolina's other senator, Lindsey Graham (R), has already thrown his support behind former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush (R).
