Rachel Dolezal, the infamous white former NAACP chapter president who identifies as black, will soon be releasing a book on the topic of race. Dolezal announced Tuesday on the Today show that she has signed a deal with independent publisher BenBella Books to write a book about "this larger issue of if you don't fit into one box and if you don't stay there your whole life."

Since Dolezal's estranged parents revealed last year that she is actually white in heritage, Dolezal has resigned from the NAACP, lost her position as a professor of Africana Studies at Eastern Washington University, and weathered a storm of criticism stemming from the revelation. Still, she continues to identify as black.
